Back from our European sojourn - the itinerary:

• we left SFO December 17th to Paris,
  
• from Paris-Geneva-Chamonix Dec 19,
  
• 6 days of skiing and seeing some beautiful sights,
  
• Geneva the 26-27,
  
• Paris 27-30
  
• then home on the 31st with only a 3 hour delay in Chicago. Arrived home 11:15 PM New Year's eve - the ball dropped then we did!

The whole trip was lots of fun, with laughter, good food and drink (though Olivia is still not partial to wine, thankfully), some great scenary, some adequate snow (although we could have done without the snow/sleet in Paris on the 30th!). Cousin Ronald and Flavie were terrific hosts in Paris, even finding us lodging at their neighbor's for 4 days - a tremendous convenience.

Now we get back into the swing of things, which included unpacking and doing lots of laundry, plus shaving my beard off for the first time in 20 years (and now growing it back - just wanted Olivia and Carol to see what they were missing, and the verdict is there's no need to stay clean-shaven).
